Anne Elise Teeling is a charming, captivating, and creative soprano based in New York City. Frequenting the stage, she has appeared in featured roles with Lyric Opera Orange County, Regina Opera Company, Opera Atlantic, the Gilbert and Sullivan Light Opera Company of Long Island, and Opera in the Ozarks. Most recently, she appeared as Ishtar in the world Premiere of Gilgamesh: The Opera with Lyric Opera Orange County. Previous credits include Josephine in The Gilbert and Sullivan Light Opera Company of Long Island's production of H.M.S. Pinafore, Eurydice in Orphée aux enfers, and Stella in Previn’s A Streetcar Named Desire and Barbarina in Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro. She is looking forward to singing Frasquita in Regina Opera Company's production of Carmen.
Well-suited to the concert stage, she appeared as the soprano soloist for the Tallahassee Community Chorus’ performances of Haydn’s Lord Nelson Mass, Carmina Burana, and Mozart’s Coronation Mass. Equally comfortable with chamber work, she has performed in multiple concerts – most notably appearing in performance with FSU’s Collegium Musicum as the soprano soloist in Bach’s Coffee Cantata.
An avid competitor, Anne Elise won the Grand Prize at Delta Symphony Orchestra’s 2025 Young Artist Competition and won the Senior Division of Ocala Symphony Orchestra’s 2024 Young Artist Competition. In 2025 and '26, she was a semi-finalist in prestigious national and international competitions, such as the Palm Springs Opera Guild Competition and the Premiere Opera Vocal Arts Institute Competition.
When not singing, Anne Elise likes to explore the mystery of human relationships through writing short stories. Her attachment to storytelling is part of the reason she enjoys bringing characters to life on stage. She believes that stories, in any form, encourage empathy and genuine human connection. Anne Elise is originally from Des Moines, Iowa.
